Blockwalk.io

Know which doors are left before Election Day.

Blockwalk.io is a canvassing app for political campaigns. Each volunteer gets a walk list of likely voters and a map of their neighborhood on their phone, records every conversation at the door, and the campaign sees how much ground has been covered, street by street.

For any race and any party, from city council to the state house. iPhone and iPad, with a web dashboard for the campaign office.

A volunteer walks Maple Avenue and Linden Drive. Each house turns from to visit into visited, not home, or a yard sign request. Maple Ave Cedar St Linden Dr

A day on the doors

What volunteers record at the door goes straight into the campaign's reports. No paper, no retyping.

  1. Before you head out

Managers split the district into sections and assign them. Each volunteer sees only their own.

    • Walk lists of likely voters, grouped by street and side
    • A map of the section with the nearest house still to do
    • Saved on the phone, ready for blocks with no signal
The walk list for Woodhurst Street: 12 of 27 houses left, with 1408 Woodhurst St open to show its two voters and the Record visit and Opponent sign buttons.
  2. At the door

Record a visit in a few taps: who answered, how it went and what came up.

    • Yard sign and swag requests taken on the spot
    • Flag a question or a complaint for follow-up
Record Visit for 1408 Woodhurst St: someone home, reaction Supportive, Hank Quinlan ticked as spoken to, and Roads ticked under What came up.
  3. Back at the office

    • Follow-ups sorted by category, closed out by a manager
    • Sign requests waiting on a delivery list
    • Daily activity: houses visited per day and per volunteer
Area completion: 67% of an 80% walking goal, 13 households to go with 22 days left, and progress for precincts B104 and B107.

Your last campaign still knows these doors

Link an earlier race and its door history shows up on this year's walk lists: houses that took a yard sign, supporters you met last time, and yards that flew the other side's sign.
